Further revolutions to the Yankee design and it's missiles gave way to the somewhat iconic humpback design featured on the next generation of SSBN- the Delta class․ These boomers would form the mainstay of the Soviet North Fleet's nuclear deterrent system and would prove the proper equal to SSBNs like the Ethan Allen and James Madison class in performance‚ even down to the amount of ballistic missiles in storage․ Unfortunately these submarines remained fairly easy to detect in transit and had a harder time remaining silent under the Arctic ice․ The Yankee proved to be a crucial cornerstone of Soviet nuclear deterrant during the 60s‚ and so was the Delta․ - Narvikhr
